August Society Sustainable Lounge At Suntec City

It's finally here! August Society first pop up store is finally open at Suntec City. Ahh, the hours spent on trying to get it started was tedious but oh so worth it. Seeing the store come to life and in all its glory really makes all the time spent on it worthwhile. Suntec City has held brands from all over the globe so naturally, we felt that it was the right decision to hold our first pop up here.

The store spans slightly over 1,000 sqft and is located right in the North Atrium so you can't miss it. As a sustainable brand, we wanted to provide a space for other eco-friendly brands that not only promote sustainability but also craft and ethical manufacturing. Thus, when you enter the August Society pop up, you will be greeted by a bunch of other great brands that range from fashion to skincare. There are so many great products that you will be spoiled for choice!

Those with a passion for fashion

I know how hard it can be to be sustainable but also stay fashionable so when we say we got you, we really got you! The August Society pop up not only hold our very own pieces (psst, our new collection of men's and kids swimwear has landed!) but also other independent fashion brands. This includes Lefko, which was started by a wonderful couple that aimed to provide meaningful employment opportunities to refugees and survivors of human trafficking in Athens, Greece. Their pieces are carefully handcrafted as white linen classics that will never go out of style.

Another brand that you cannot miss is Indosole. Indosole creates durable but stylish footwear made from recycled rubber tires that will last a lifetime. They come in both slides and flip flops in a variety of shades for the whole family.

If you're planning a vacay somewhere in the near future, Baliza offers resort-wear and dresses made from organic cotton, hand printed in India. The pieces support an NGO that provides employment opportunities to lift women and children out of poverty.

If you have a little one that has stolen your love for fashion, be sure to check out Etrican as they have organic cotton basics for the whole family.

The Holy Grail Of Skincare

Good skin. How most of us wish for good skin and look back on the days when our faces were clear of impurities and fine lines. Well, fret not, with skincare that uses all organic ingredients we can finally achieve our once youthful skin again. Brands like Maya have proven that it does exactly that. As quoted by them, its like "magic in a bar". They are bar soaps made from Himalayan herbs that act as a facial, hair and body wash. Oh and have we mentioned the scent? They come in 10 different heavenly scents, from lavender to apricot oil!

Treat yourself to a little spa day with Spa Bomba and Midflower. Midflower offers masks made from french flower water and doesn't contain any preservatives. One thing unique about these masks are that they are bio-degradable. On the other hand, Spa Bomba offers bath bombs that uses natural organic ingredients that will leave your skin feeling soft and silky. Even if you don't have a bath tub, you can treat yourself to a relaxing foot spa.

Trying to find your new favourite skincare products? Try The Skin Firm's lab created natural skincare, including physical sunblock, gel cleanser, micellar water, Timeless Youth Elixir, and Youth Therapy Concentrated Essence.  Oasis Skin has brought their most popular rose quartz roller to help you smooth fine lines and encourage lymphatic drainage. They also feature their natural, handmade solid shampoos and hair oils.

For portable aromatherapy, you will love Sol+. They've brought their portable aromatherapy oil-based rollers, droppers and fragrances. You need a stress reliever? We got you. You need help with your sleep? We got you. They even have a portable air diffuser that uses a usb to charge it.

Accessorize your life!

Accessories. Oh how I love them. I love how you can change up a totally simple outfit with a little clutch that has a pop of colour or an oversized necklace. It really makes all the difference. Lucky for you, you would be able to get your accessory fix here in August Society. The Handmade Romantics is a personal favourite of mine. They carry colourful woven baskets in different sizes that are not only functional but also hand made by artisans in Indonesia. They are versatile and even waterproof! Do we hear more beach days coming up? They also carry one of a kind statement earrings, clutches and handbags that will make heads turn.

Looking for a truly one of a kind bag? Salty Bag offers unique bags repurposed by hand in Corfu, Greece from decommissioned boat sails. If you notice any slight imperfections on the bag, that is due to the sail's condition when it was turned into a bag.

Want to rock the classic Victoria Beckham look? Well, she doesn't go anywhere without her iconic sunglasses. With Truth & All, you will be able to recreate her look. Unisex frames are made from 100% biodegradable acetate, and they're made in Greece by a socially responsible family-run company.

We love Two Baked Buns! First of all, the name is incredibly creative so you can already guess that they have amazing products. Long gone are bad hair days with Two Baked Buns hats, which are artisan made in Indonesia and completely hold their shape (so you don't ever have to worry about squashing them in your luggage!) They also have a selection of baskets, homeware and beaded bags that are all intrinsically unique.

Magnifique! That's definitely one word to describe Lou Dot Lou products. Each and every product is beautifully handcrafted in Paris from colourful remnant fabrics sourced from around the world.. They have head wraps, mini clutches, tote bags, scrunchies and even pins.

When I mentioned oversized necklace, I wasn't kidding on oversize. Muta Wear derives from the word "transmutation", taking waste as a resource creating beauty from it. Muta Wear necklaces are made by an independent local designer so each is carefully handcrafted to near perfection.

Sustainability on the go!

Bamboo Straw Girl knows exactly what she's doing when she started this brand. Aimed to reduce the use of single use plastic, she has successful captured the essence of being eco-friendly but also being affordable. Currently at the August Society store, we carry bamboo straws, bamboo bottles, collapsible mugs and more!

We can't wait for you to come and visit us!
